The Enhanced CHCL gives a licensee the ability to carry and possess a concealed handgun in more locations. The fee includes a 52 page booklet covering the law and prohibited carry places. Drinks, snacks and lunch are provided. The firing range distance are 3 yds., 7 yds., & 15 yds with a minimum of 50 rounds, timed intervals as required by the A.S.P. on a B-27 target. A.S.P. paperwork and training page will be provided. (The Enhanced endorsement never needs renewing.)

"My name is William Douglas Green, but normally I go by Doug. I am a veteran and I am active in law enforcement. I have been an Arkansas State Police certified instructor for Concealed Handgun Training licensing since 1997. During these 24 years I have taught hundreds of individuals the ASP approved curriculum for Arkansas concealed carry licensing. In my class I provide each student with a booklet which contains the Arkansas Concealed Carry Laws, plus I teach ballistics, gun safety and fundamentals, criminal and weapons laws. My classroom holds 17+ people comfortably so I can accommodate small or large groups. My wife, Kathy pops in and out during the day, handling the various paperwork required. Basically, making sure all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed so when everything arrives at the Arkansas State Police Headquarters in Little Rock, there won't be any snags on paperwork. She distributes a menu early in the class so she can make your sandwich the way you like it for lunch. We also have snacks and drinks. My class is very relaxed and I encourage students to ask questions. We have the firing range on site under a covered pavilion so rain or shine, we can have the classes."
In July when the Arkansas State Police notified us that they will no longer accept black rolled ink fingerprint cards we invested in the equipment and software to become a live scan fingerprint harvester, doing business as Central Arkansas Live Scan. During my Standard CHCL class your fingerprints will be taken by myself or Kathy and we will transmit them electronically. Note: I encourage the student to complete the ASP application online for the Standard CHCL class. After making your payment to the ASP, you are given a confirmation number which MUST be used when transmitting your fingerprints.
The Arkansas State Police issues their license either as restricted or unrestricted. A restricted CHCL allows the holder to carry only a revolver. An unrestricted CHCL allows the holder to carry either a semi-automatic, revolver or any legal handgun. I always encourage my students to go for the unrestricted license. I have several 22 semi-automatic handguns that students can use to qualify with at no charge. I do charge for ammo if the student does not bring his own. (Twenty rounds is the required minimum for qualifying in the Standard CHCL class.)
